Vintage Forty-Six
Once Jilian Evans and her husband Neil set their minds to opening Vintage Forty-Six Antiques and Collectables in April last year things began to come together at great pace.
When the shop, integral to their lovely Georgian home, in Wickham Market became vacant, Jilian and Neil decided it was time to venture upon the antiques business they had so often spoken about. "My husband started off as a carpenter, so he's always had a lovely eye for furniture" explains Jilian, "he'd often bring home lovely pieces of pine, mahogany or oak furniture and everyone would just laugh and say "well you'll have to open a shop".
Six weeks later and Vintage Forty-Six opened.
Jilian searches for antiques and collectables all over the British Isles and with her many trips to Europe you're just as likely to find British antiques as well as pieces from French, German and Dutch history.
One main theme of the shop is to stock and display antiques and artwork from the local area. This gives a platform for East Anglian artists of all types of work to exhibit and sell their art it also means that a trip to the shop is always interesting. The friendly staff are always available and keen to tell you something about the local artists works' on display, just ask!
The Vintage Forty-Six web site is also expanding at a rate of knots as it too is a place for people to exhibit their works of art. Click on the Links!
